People with migraine headache may have a familial genetic inheritance. When we evaluate migraine patients from a functional medicine point of view; in the majority of these patients, their headaches began in childhood or adolescence, along with migraine headaches of these patients;
allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
Asthma
irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Eczema
Hashimoto's disease
Type 2 DM
rheumatic disease
Fibromyalgia syndrome
Anxiety
We see that he has diseases such as restless legs syndrome.

Are foods important in migraine?

In our patients we followed up for migraine headache; Especially when we question the foods we eat, we observe that the pain is triggered after the consumption of some foods. These foods are generally questioned in our functional medicine evaluation;
1)  Foods that the body accepts as allergens
2)   Foods that initiate inflammatory processes in the body after entering the body
3)   Foods that cause the body to release a substance called histamine
4)   After entering the body, it is classified as foods that have neurotoxic effects on the brain.

What do we pay attention to when examining the patient from a functional medicine perspective?

The details we pay attention to when examining a patient with a functional medicine perspective;

1)   Is there any childhood diseases, long-term antibiotic use? (especially in the first 2 years)
2)   Did she take breast milk? How long did it last?
3)   Is there a history of psychological trauma in childhood? (such as separation from mother for a long time, loss of parents at an early age, separation from mother and father, harassment)
4)   Personality structure, with the patient's own expression (such as hasty, anxious, obsessive, nervous, perfectionist)
